Carol grew up in Jefferson City, Missouri. She graduated from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas, earning her B.A. in English and minoring in both Communication and Education.  Her teaching experiences were in Kansas City, New Hampshire, Vermont and here in Albany.  In addition to teaching middle and high school children, she also directed an adult literacy program through the Albany Chamber of Commerce. Carol joined the Staff of Porterfield UMC as the Director of Children’s Ministries in 2001.  She has been married to Richard Bowe for 27 years, and they have two daughters, Emma and Hannah.
