Senior Adults

"One of the most important human needs is the need of a relationship -- we want to belong somewhere."
These two quotes are powerful, providing a simple rational for a ministry to and through Senior Adults. At Porterfield Memorial UMC, our seniors are awesome. They are the backbone of many ongoing ministries of the church. They worship, fellowship and minister as a group. Our seniors partner with other groups such as the Council on Aging and Meals on Wheels to serve their community. They volunteer with the local Salvation Army and help with our Fall Festival. Bible studies, fun travel opportunities and singing in worship are just a few of the ways we merge the two statements mentioned- ageing well and belonging with our Christian faith!
