Adult Sunday School Classes 10:15 am
Alpha Class studies the International Lesson series. Their teachers include Bill Buntin, George Chastain, Mary Joe McGee, Penny Schneider and Kermit Hernderson. Their group of persons, age 58 - 80 is a close caring class that shares warmth in time of illness and death. They are very supportive in mission needs and other monetary needs. They are located across the main hall from the program staff offices. 9:45
Chi Class meets downstairs in the education annex. This group consists of couples and singles in the “empty nest” and “new grandparent” phase of life. The class rotates members as teachers, with class discussion and follows the International Lesson series along with other occasional studies of interest. Mission projects are supported each month and social gatherings are held often. This group meets downstairs in the education annex. 10:00
Explorers consists of mainly couples in ages ranging from 20’s to 40’s. This group searches for answers to the many questions and trails of early marriage, parenthood and beyond through God’s word. Teaching is by rotating class members. Discussions are always interesting and entertaining. This class meets downstairs in the education annex. 10:15
Jesus 316 is a class designed for anyone seeking to experience “the depth, the power, and the joy” of Christian fellowship and Bible study. The class is a mix of couples and singles from ages 18 to 80 who is looking for a place to belong with an average weekly attendance of 50 – 75. The text for the class is the Bible and is led by Davis Kinney who also uses a variety of contemporary sources and media to draw the group into a deeper study and discussion of the Word. The class is located in the Fellowship Hall adjacent to the Ministry Center. 10:15
Journey has rotational teachers every week. They use Methodist curriculum and scripture with open discussions to apply biblical principles to their every day lives. The ages are from late 30s to 50s. This group does a variety of mission projects depending on the needs of the community. 10:15
Key Class is an adult class made up of about 50 members in the ages of 50 +. This group studies the International Lesson series with some discussions. They have numerous social events during the year and is supportive of Missions such as sponsoring a child at Vashti. This class is located downstairs in the education annex. 9:45
Living Creation is a discussion oriented class which meets downstairs in the education annex. Members rotate teaching on a volunteer basis. This group uses the Bible and the newest faith based books. Singles and couples of 40’s and above make up this group. Fellowship 9:45-10:15
New Day Class is a small group of retired women who study the International Lesson series. Teachers are primarily volunteers from the class with occasional visiting teachers. This group is very supportive to the needs and celebrations of the class and is very active with missions and recreational activities appropriate to class interests. This class is located downstairs in the education annex. 9:45
Partners in Prayer meet upstairs in the Education Annex. This group of married couples who have young children to teenagers undertakes several lesson series a year over a wide variety of topics, such as our family relationships, finances, Christian interactions with other faiths, and more. In addition to learning about and reinforcing the need for daily holy habits during our lecture/discussion-style lessons, we gather regularly at members’ homes to fellowship with each others’ families as we strive to grow together in Christ. 10:15
Seekers is a class of 40’s and above. Nick Carden teaches the class with lectures based on the International Lesson series. This group enjoys social interaction with quarterly socials. Members rotate refreshments and devotionals and stay informed with weekly e-mails and newsletters. This class meets in the Chapel. 10:00
Sojourners Class is a discussion class using the International Lesson series. It consists of members ages 60 – 80. Members are active in collections for missions and enjoy having social gatherings three or four times a year. The members are a caring group that tends to the needs of each other and welcomes others to join them in the Parlor. 9:45
