Pastor's Message
Welcome to Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church! I hope that this web page will be a valuable resource to you.
The purpose of PMUMC is to build disciples of Jesus Christ through fellowship, study, worship, outreach and a variety of ministries. We have ministries for people at every station in their lives, beginning with our nursery and going through our XYZ (eXtra Years of Zest!) At Porterfield you will find both contemporary and traditional worship services, age-based and interest-based Christian education and a variety of book and Bible studies during the week. There are gender-specific ministries (United Methodist Women and United Methodist Men), as well as ministries designed specifically for children and youth. Our prayer ministry is essential to the members of this church and to those beyond its walls. Our music ministry is vibrant and varied and offers many opportunities for honoring God. There are also many ways to honor God through service, such as Meals on Wheels, Strive2Thrive, our canned goods ministry and various other outreach ministries. While this web page does not list all of the ministries and programs at Porterfield, you can get a good idea of who we are and what we are about by browsing our ministry section here.
If you are a member of Porterfield, please be sure to register on the member's page. All you need to do is to choose a username and a password and then click "register". Your information will then be sent to the church and after it is approved you can access the membership database. You may also change any of your own information that we have incorrect in the church office. (Note: only members and regular worshippers will be able to access the member's section.) If you are a visitor, please read our Frequently Asked Questions here. If you have questions that are not answered on that page, feel free to contact any staff member. When you visit Porterfield, please introduce yourself to me, as I love to meet our visitors!
Blessings,
Leigh Ann Raynor
